These are the ingredients that are needed for most taco soup recipes. The quantities for the beans, kernel and tomatoes are usually the ones of canned products. However this doesn’t necessary mean that you have to use canned vegetables and legumes. You can prepare your own diced ingredients if you have the time and if you prefer natural ingredients which are a lot tastier. Despite the many types of ingredients that are required for this recipe you should know that the preparation is quite simple. You start by sauteing the ground beef and the onions in a large skillet. Make sure that you drain the excess fat before proceeding with the cooking. Out the beef and onion mix in a big soup pot and add the rest of the ingredients. The vegetable broth or stock should cover the ingredients. This recipe is suitable for normal cooking as well as for slow cooking. If you will use the stove you should cook the mix for about 1 hour on low heat. If you will use a slow cooker you should leave the mix on for 6-8 hours. The best way to serve this soup is to put a few corn chips in each bowl and then pour the soup over them. Garnish with sour cream, grated cheese, pickled jalapenos and green onions.
